ABOUT 

'The Friends of All Saints' is a Registered Charity (1118769) whose main objectives are:

(1) The maintenance of the fabric, contents and furnishings of the church of All Saints in the village of Earls Barton in the county of Northamptonshire

(2) The promotion of the conservation and wellbeing of the building structure, works of art, churchyard and ecclesiastical properties of the church

(3) the provision of improvements to the fabric such as required by law

(4) The enhancement of the fabric and contents of the church proposed by the PCC

(5) The advancement among people of all ages of the awareness and appreciation of the architectural and historical character quality and importance of the church and its contents and furnishings.

The Charity was first set up in 2008 but for various reasons it was inactive until the early Summer of 2011 when new Trustees were appointed and a Management Committee set up. There are Trustees who oversee the workings of the Trust and ensure that the Objectives of the trust are adhered to. The Trustees include:

THE TRUSTEES

Martin Pratt

Martin has lived in Earls Barton since 1986 and has been a trustee of the Friends of All Saints since it was founded. As a long standing member of the Parochial Church Council he provides a link between the executive body of All Saints Church and the independent charity established to provide support for the maintenance of the beautiful and historically significant church building. He works for Luton Borough Council as Corporate Director for Children & Learning and is married with two daughters.

George Blackwell

George Blackwell serves Earls Barton as a Parish, Borough and County Councillor, and has done so for thirty years. He is a Director of Wellingborough Homes and was formerly a member of the Northamptonshire Police Authority. George was born in Earls Barton and has lived there virtually all his life. George is widowed and has four children and eight grandchildren. His late wife, Pat, was actively involved in many aspects of village life and a member of All Saints Parish Church. George is a toolmaker by trade and is now retired from the elected position of a full-time Officer of the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union. George is President of the Earls Barton Cricket Club and a keen supporter of Northampton Saints RFC.

Peter Verden

Peter was born in London in 1945, moved to Northampton where he met and married Ann in October 1966. They lived in London for their first 4 years before moving to Earls Barton in April 1970. Peter has 2 children, a son Mark who now lives in Adelaide with his wife and son Conor and a daughter Judith who lives in Northampton with her 2 children Jessica and Jamie. Since moving into Earls Barton he have been involved in a lot of community work. He was an Earls Barton Carnival Committee member, being chairman for a number of years before stepping down in the year 2000; its most successful year for fund raising. In 1995 he entered Local Government being elected onto Earls Barton Parish Council and served for 16 years 12 of them as Chairman retiring in May 2011. He was honoured to be invited to the Queens Garden Party in July 2009 in recognition of his long service to the Parish Council. He was also on the Youth Club Management Committee and sat on numerous other committees at both Borough and County level.

Revd Jenny Ingram 

Jenny is the vicar of All Saints Church in Earls Barton, a post she has held since her appointment in July 2019. Jenny was ordained at Peterborough Cathedral in 2016 and although born in Burnley, she has lived most of her life in Northamptonshire (including Polebrook, Oundle and Wootton). Jenny is keen to see Christian mission and ministry flourish in Earls Barton and understands the role of the church to be central in the community.
